I just finished watching “Meatrix-The Dark Side Of Farming.” It was really stupid in a way, and also funny because of the way they tried to be like “The Matrix.” The video taught me about the difference between how factory farms treat their animals and how family farms treat their animals. First of all, family farms treat their animals nicely. Factory farms on the other hand treat their animals cruelly. They push them all together in one crowded area, so close that most can’t even turn around. Most of the animals that the factory farms keep are never allowed to see or feel fresh air again. The tight space cause many fights and diseases between the animals. To fix this the systematic mutilations, practices such as debeaking chickens and feeding the animals with antibiotics. These antibiotics are the things that keep the animals alive. Without them the animals would die, but if they keep feeding them the antibiotics they can be very dangerous too. By constantly feeding the animals antibiotics, the bacteria that aren’t killed keep getting stronger. Everyday we are getting closer to an academic that can’t be stopped. They don’t even get get rid of the animals excrement. The poop save up until they pollute the land and air water. That’s why communities near factory farms suffer from many high level sicknesses.
